The Bike Project
Support for refugees and asylum-seekers
The Bike Project, are a South London charity that support refugees by taking donations of second-hand bikes, repairing and up-cycling them and donates them to refugees and asylum seekers.
Having fled persecution and atrocity in their country of origin, most refugees arrive in the UK with no personal belongings. A bike will help them gain access to food banks, legal advice, healthcare, education and much more.
Since 2013, The Bike Project have given away over 7,500 bikes to refugees from dozens of countries. As part of our partnership, The Bike Project occupy our meanwhile space, CYCLE42, at Station Road in Merton.
To support the work they do, they take donations and sell second-hand bikes to the wider community from the location. As well as providing cycle training to local refugees and asylum seekers.
