Blenheim Square becomes 100% social rent
We are pleased to announce that the redevelopment of the Blenheim Centre in Penge will now be delivered at 100% social rent. Brought forward in a Joint Venture with Clarion Housing Group.
The scheme was originally approved in March 2024 for up to 230 homes, with 35% affordable housing. Since then, Hadley and Clarion have worked closely with the Greater London Authority to secure additional grant funding, identifying an opportunity to reshape the scheme and deliver 228 homes at 100% social rent.
This outcome reflects the value of cross-sector collaboration in unlocking opportunity and responding to local need. The additional affordable homes will provide significant relief to Bromley Council’s housing waiting list, alongside providing new commercial space and improved public realm for the area.
Subject to approval of the Section 73 application, we anticipate construction to commence in late 2026. The scheme represents an important step in delivering high-quality homes and community spaces in Penge, while contributing to London’s broader housing ambitions.
