Neighbours in Poplar

Neighbours in Poplar is a charitable organisation based in Poplar that provides meals and additional support to residents in need in the local area.

Neighbours in Poplar's vision is to enable vulnerable people, especially those living alone and often undocumented, to live fulfilling and meaningful lives. We aim to add quality, wellbeing, a sense of independence and meaning to the days of their lives. Helping to reduce isolation and loneliness, where possible by growing a sense of community with the areas we cover.

At the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, they set out to assist low income, single and disabled individuals by preparing and delivering two hot meals a week to those in need throughout Tower Hamlets. As of July 2021, they had delivered over 18,000 hot meals.

Hadley staff have supported their efforts by volunteering with the preparation and delivery of meals over the past year.
